Tara Gunter

GHS DECA Advisor & Marketing Education Teacher

Ms. Gunter brings over 25 years of industry experience in Marketing, Advertising, Entertainment, Digital Technology and Entrepreneurship to her role as GHS DECA's Advisor having worked with companies like The LA Times, Carsey-Werner, Oxygen Media, Harpo Films, Amazon Films and Wix.com. In addition to DECA, Ms. Gunter

serves as the Marketing Management Pathway Teacher and SBE Manager at Grayson, where she teaches AKS-based Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Management Courses to students, in grades, 9-12, and provides students opportunities to further connect DECA's real-world curriculum through the classroom and school store's retail operations.

DECA IN THE SCHOOL STORE

"Planet Rams" is GHS DECA's SBE (School-Based Enterprise), that also doubles as a Marketing Education Lab to bring State and DECA AKS-based standard curriculum to life through our new flagship Retail Trainee Program. The Retail Trainee Program is a rigorous program only offered to GHS DECA Members who are highly motivated to complete the Marketing Management Pathway, have successfully passed required Marketing courses and have received Marketing Management course approval by Ms. Gunter and the Career and Technical Education Dept..

Retail Trainee Roles include: Operations, Visual Merchandising, Marketing & Customer Relations

Retail Trainees participate in Store Interviews, Weekly Store Meetings, Daily Store Evaluations, Performance Evaluations and Project Based Learning Activities.
